GleneaglesCRC (Singapore) in collaboration with the Medical Research Centre (Vietnam) is conducting the very 1st International Good Clinical Practice Workshop.
This is an approved ICH-GCP Workshop by the Ministry of Health (MOH) Vietnam and being endorsed by Murdoch University, Western Australia.
The workshop is being held from 24-26 Sep 2010 at Oscar-Saigon Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
These 3-days Workshop will highlight upon the introduction to Clinical Research, principles of ICH-GCP, elements of Informed Consent, role of Ethics Committee, responsibility of Sponsor, Investigator & Study Monitor, handling of biological specimen, recruitment strategies and safety reporting, introduction to Bioavailability and Bioequivalence Studies.

On 20th April 2010, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) had been signed between GleneaglesCRC Pte Ltd (GCRC) and Clinical Trial Centre of Severance Hospital, Yonsei University Health System (SEVCTC) in South Korea.
SEVCTC its self, designated by the Korean Ministry of Health and WElface in 2005 as a Regional Clinical Trials Centre, and was granted the government fund for its establishment and operations, in addition to the contribution from Seoul City and 9 pharmaceutical companies.
Under the terms of the MOU, GCRC and SEVCTC intend to enter into a mutually beneficial cooperative relationship to provide comprehensive and high quality clinical research services to global pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies. Both parties will embark on joint marketing efforts to promote each other’s services to these companies; SEVCTC will be GCRC’s preferred subcontractor for clinical research that are required to be conducted in South Korea, while GCRC will be SEVCTC’s preferred subcontractor for clinical research studies to be conducted in the Asia-Pacific region.
The ultimate goal of the centre is to improve medical care for the patients through enhancement of world-class quality clinical research activities. The centre aims to lead new drug development globally as well as domestically in collaboration with industry and regulatory bodies. It also ensures that the clinical studies are done in the most ethical and scientifically sounds ways to protect rights, safety and welfare of study participants.
Mitsui & Co. Ltd. has acquired a slightly less than 50% interest and become an investor for GleneaglesCRC Pte. Ltd. for roughly 400 million Yen on 14th January 2010.
This would become a historical milestone for GCRC by having Mitsui as a 49% Stake-Holder, while the 51% Stake will belong to Parkway.
Mitsui is the 2nd largest trading company in Japan. In world wide, Mitsui has presence in every country in the world in a wide range of industries, i.e.: banking, textile, chemicals, consumer goods, telecommunication, aerospace, automobiles, properties, etc..
This would be the first time for Mitsui to invest into a CRO and it aims to use Mitsui’s capital participation as a springboard on expectations of growing demand for clinical trials in Asia.
With effect from 1 February 2010, there will NOT be any convened meeting for Full-Board Review in December. Submissions received by PIEC from 1 November to 31 December will be tabled for Full-Board Meeting in January.
